This week’s throwback song is a classic from one of my favorite rap groups. Their music transcends race and genre. They’re style is incomparable. Their artistry is unquestionable. And it all started with this little song giving homage to their home (and my home, they even name drop the street I used to live on). I give you Big Boi and Andre 3000 with…

I had finals last week and was totally caught up in that. Throwback Thursdays are still on an popping. Here is a classic from the group Onyx. They were a bit of a one-hit wonder with this song, but the members of the group seem to have gone on to acting and other musical ventures.
Check this out from the group Onyx, our Throwback Thursday song of the day is “Slam” (dun dunna dun dunna, sorry I got a little excited.) I chose this song because I like it and definitely not because a certain young man I was seeing really pissed me off today and I’m imagining slamming him (of course not).
Enjoy.

All is right with the world again. Federal judges ruled this past week that the phrase “bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay” belongs rightfully to the funk doctor himself George Clinton.
According the article in the Tennessean newspaper Clinton was suing over the use of the phrase by R. Kelly’s former group Public Announcement. You can read more about the story here.
In honor of this most joyous of occasions the Thursday Throwback this week is none other than Parliament Funkadelic’s “Atomic Dog.” Enjoy.

Starting today on Thursdays (or whenever I can remember. I’m gonna start posting a Jam of the Week. I heard this song and I had to make it my inaugural Thursday Throwback of the week.
Memory Lane: I had the biggest crush on this guy. He was a one-hit wonder, but a hot one LOL. I saw him a few years ago on a MTV reality show where they were teaching celebrities how to rap. It was a lot of fun.
Without further ado, our first Thursday Throwback Jam of the week is none other than “Bust a Move” by Young MC:
